The absolute WORST experience! Completely unprofessional. My communications thru email, text & phone were not only ignored but we were basically ghosted for 3 straight weeks after a piece we owned sold $600 under the reserve (*4 ITEMS HAD A RESERVE). A Tarkay was also almost sold under reserve as well but I brought it to their attention & sale was cancelled. My experience with Josh Kodner is mixed. Personally I like him. Professionally I see lots of opportunities with how he conducts business. I agreed with Josh to sell 5 original Britto paintings and 2 other paintings for a total of 7 paintings mainly ranging 6 feet long x 5 feet wide so big paintings. I want to be fair here so here it goes. Extremely Disappointing Experience – Non-Delivery of Items and Lack of Response I am writing to share my extremely frustrating experience with Joshua Kodner Auctioneers, which has yet to be resolved despite my numerous attempts to get a response. Mr. Kodner and his staff are friendly and professional. It was easy to schedule a consultation, and Mr. Kodner came out to me to inspect the items I wanted to sell. Turn around time for payment was also prompt.
Update…After presenting Joshua Kodner a written statement from one of the world’s foremost authorities on the artist in question, stating the subject painting was a forgery, and receiving assistance from the bidding platform I bid through, Joshua Kodner ultimately accepted the return of the artwork and refunded my money… I purchased a painting in Joshua Kodner's June 1, 2024 Revamp sale, with an all-in cost of approximately $20,000.
